Improved B777 Fuel Pump Outlet Flap Valve

B777 operators with aircraft below MSN 585 have reported fuel leakage through the outlet flap valve assembly that was previously installed to the pump housings. In certain cases this has caused disruption to operations.

An improved flap valve is available and is installed to the housing assemblies on aircraft above MSN 585.

Technical advantages and specification

  • PN 568-1-31509-000 supersedes PN 568-1-29447-000.
  • Applicable for: B777 aircraft with MSN below 585.
  • The improved flap valve has a metal to metal seal which replaces the fluorosilicone to metal seal that caused most of the problems.
  • No possibility of seal surface delamination.
  • No risk of excessive leakage caused by seal degradation.
  • This modification is fully approved by Boeing.
  • Quantity per aircraft: 8 each (see table below).
