Sustainability at Satair

At Satair, sustainability is a key focus of our business.

We aim to enhance our operational efficiency while ensuring that the wellbeing of our people and the planet guide both our daily practices and long-term strategies.

Approach to Sustainability

Satair is committed to reducing our environmental footprint and maximizing our positive handprint with a defined Target Operating Model (TOM). The TOM ensures transformation across all levels of the organization, including governance, upskilling, and data analytics.

We are focused on our decarbonisation roadmap and have adopted well-established methodologies, such as the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol and Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), to standardize the ways by which we measure our performance. Having a firm grasp on Scope 1 & 2 emissions targets, Satair is now working to expand and refine our disclosures on Scope 3 emissions (i.e. those derived from our value chain), which will help us achieve higher levels of accountability. Communication and transparency will facilitate effective collaboration as we continue to comply with voluntary standards (e.g. ISO 14001) and regulatory requirements (e.g. CSRD).

Promoting Sustainability in the Supply Chain

We recognise that sustainability efforts extend beyond our immediate operations, so we engage with our business partners, as well as our customers including OEMs and airlines to align on goals. We promote the circular business model of Airbus and our suppliers by coordinating repair services and reintegrating Used Serviceable Material (USM) into the market. We are proud to foster a collaborative approach to reducing the consumption of raw materials, while supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Sustainability Success Stories and Initiatives

Our sustainability achievements are a testament to thoughtful transformation and governance. Satair’s transition from air freight to sea freight for stock transfer orders significantly reduces our carbon footprint on these transport costs. Furthermore, we have reduced our reliance on plastics by implementing a paper-based packaging initiative that utilises recycled/recyclable paper products and reuses fill materials. As we continue to integrate sustainability into behaviors and business processes, we are also exploring green energy solutions (e.g. power purchase agreements). Continuously increasing our recycling rate and reducing our water consumption are just further initiatives on our improvement path.

At Satair, we are committed to advancing sustainability and safety, while continuously enhancing our practices to make a positive impact. Join us in our mission to create a more sustainable future for aerospace.
