Nicole joined Satair as a temporary employee over two years ago and is now a Master Data Specialist. Hear her story below.

How long have you been working at Satair? Please briefly describe your career path.

Working in aviation is an exhilarating journey that I embarked on at the beginning of my professional career. Having started in the operational aviation industry, I quickly developed a deep passion for the field. What captivates me the most is the essence of aviation – the act of moving people, facilitating connections, and bringing individuals together. As I progressed in the business, I gained a profound understanding of the intricate complexities that define the aviation industry.

I've been with Satair for more than two years, and my career path has been dynamic. Starting as a temporary employee in a coordinator role, I swiftly climbed the ranks, securing a specialist position after three months, and eventually earning a fixed contract after nine months of dedicated service.

 

Why did you join Satair?

My decision to join Satair was fueled by my unwavering passion for aviation. The company's affiliation with the Airbus family presented a logical transition from operational aviation to the renowned aircraft manufacturing sector. Satair's diverse business areas, encompassing Purchasing, Logistics, Supply Chain, HR, and Finance, provide ample opportunities for personal and professional growth. 

 

What keeps you motivated on the job in Satair?

The organization's commitment to continuous improvement and sustainability is evident in the motivated teams I have the privilege to work with daily. The motivating factors at Satair stem from the perfect blend of engaging colleagues, challenging tasks, and ambitious objectives. The teams I collaborate with share a common goal of constant improvement and sustainability in all aspects of our work. The core values of Satair – respect, reliability, teamwork, and integrity – resonate deeply with both the company and myself. These values are not just words on paper; they permeate the daily operations and collaborations within teams.

What advice would you give a fellow Newcomer?

For newcomers, my advice is simple: don't hesitate to ask questions. In this complex business environment, seeking clarification leads to a deeper understanding of the context and dependencies that shape our work.

Tell us about one of the most memorable experiences from your time at Satair. What made it so special and unforgettable?

One of my most memorable experiences at Satair was participating in a coffee talk with members of the leadership team. The discussion focused on female leadership, involving our Head of People and Workplace and the CFO. The conversation was enlightening, highlighting the importance of female contributions in leadership roles, a sentiment embraced not only by the leadership team but also by employees across genders.
